How many years has your team been developing games?

3.5 years.

Who, or what, inspired you to become a games developer?

All the great games, especially that from Blizzard Entertainment inspired me.

What was the inspiration for your team’s name?

We wanted to sound like a secret base operating out of Tokyo.

Describe a usual day in the life of an Indie Dev team.

Get to work at 0930, finish around 1930. Then it’s a day of meetings, planning, designing, and reporting. It’s more or less the same as a AAA dev company but at a way smaller scale… the great thing is we have way more flexibility and quicker decision making!

Can you describe the process/timeline of developing a game?

It’s the same with any game we’ve developed in the past. Vision / Goal definition Planning Prototyping Creating a mass production pipeline Put it together! Testing and out it goes 😉

How do you juggle all of the aspects of games development?

I don’t. I have a lovely Project Manager who helps me keep it together.

What is your ambition as an Indie Developer?

To leave behind games that impact gamers lives.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into the games industry?

Work hard, play hard! If you keep at it, one day, you’ll be successful just as any other craft!

Where do you see gaming heading in the next decade?

Towards a “real” VR setting where holographic projectors will be a thing in every household. This is when things will get really interesting for me!

I want to say a massive thank you to Hiroaki Yura for giving his time to take part in the Indie Corner Spotlight interview. If you would like to be featured, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
