Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2 – The Rapid Review

The Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2 are a breath of fresh air. They don’t look like your typical wireless earbuds, and that’s exactly what makes them interesting. Instead of pushing into your ears, they clip around them and rest just outside. It might sound a bit strange at first, but once you try them, it’s easy to see why Soundcore chose this design. And honestly, I really like them.
Comfort is the big selling point
For me, the main thing is how comfortable the AeroClip 2 are. I’ve never loved earbuds that sit tightly inside your ears. After a while, they get uncomfortable, especially if you’re wearing them for long stretches. The AeroClip 2 completely avoids that problem.

Because they sit around your ear instead of inside it, you don’t get that constant pressure or blocked-up feeling regular earbuds cause. They’re also really light—just 6.2g each—so once they’re on, you barely notice them. That makes them great for listening to music, catching up on podcasts, or taking calls all day long. Of course, fit is personal—everyone’s ears are different—but for me, this design is much more comfortable than having something jammed into my ear canal.
And they sound surprisingly good
Now, I wasn’t expecting miracles here. Open-ear earbuds usually have to compromise on sound, since you don’t get the sealed-in effect of regular in-ear buds. But the AeroClip 2 actually sound really good. There’s plenty of bass, vocals come through clearly, and music has a good bit of energy. You won’t get the same totally immersive experience as you would with a solid pair of in-ear earbuds, especially in noisy places, but for everyday listening, they do the job well.
Pop music, podcasts, and general day-to-day listening all work especially well here. The smart part is you can still hear what’s happening around you. If someone talks to you, you’ll hear them. If you’re out and about, you stay much more aware of your surroundings. That’s a big plus for me.
Calls are where these really impress
Soundcore really highlights the call quality on the AeroClip 2, and after using them, I get why.
It has four microphones and a clever system designed to pick up your voice while filtering out the noise around you. Guinness World Records has also independently recognised the AeroClip 2 for achieving the highest speech-quality score in an objective test for open-ear clip-on earbuds. But honestly, never mind the Guinness World Record for a second. I gave these a much tougher test: my Dyson.
I was vacuuming with my Dyson on max power. If you’ve ever used one, you know how loud they get. I had the AeroClip 2 in during a call with my wife on the other end. The result was genuinely ridiculous. She couldn’t hear the Dyson. At all. Not “could barely hear it”. Not “it was quieter than expected”. Nothing. I was vacuuming at full power and chatting away, but on her end, it sounded like I wasn’t even using a vacuum. That is seriously impressive.
It’s one of those things you really have to experience to believe. Marketing claims and lab tests are one thing, but handling something as loud and everyday as a Dyson on full blast is a whole different story. For me, this is easily one of the most impressive things about the AeroClip 2.

They’re also great for regular calls because, unlike in-ear earbuds, they don’t block your ears. You can hear what’s going on around you while you talk, so conversations feel a lot more natural. If you take a lot of calls, particularly while you’re out and about or doing things around the house, the call performance alone could make these worth considering.
They stay put
At first, I was a bit sceptical about the whole clip-around-your-ear idea. I figured they’d probably fall off. Thankfully, no. Soundcore uses what they call their “GoldenFit” design, based on thousands of ear scans. The idea is to keep the earbuds secure but still comfortable. They stay put without ever feeling like they’re squeezing your head.

That means they’re good for walking and general exercise too, though of course, everyone’s ears are different, so your experience may vary. They also have an IP57 rating, so they’re better protected against dust and water.
Battery life is decent
You get about eight hours from the earbuds themselves, and up to 32 hours with the charging case. There’s also a quick-charge feature—Soundcore says a 10-minute charge gives you around four hours of listening. For normal day-to-day use, that’s more than enough. I also appreciate that the case isn’t huge. You can actually put it in your pocket without feeling like you’re carrying a brick.
There are a few downsides
They’re not perfect. The main thing to keep in mind is that these are open-ear earbuds. That means you don’t get traditional noise cancelling. If you’re somewhere really noisy, like a train or a busy café, you’ll still hear what’s going on around you. Personally, I think that’s part of the appeal. But if you want earbuds that block out everything, these aren’t for you. At £159.99 in the UK, they’re not cheap either. You’re paying for the unique design, comfort, recording breaking call quality, and all-day wear. There are plenty of earbuds out there, so you really have to want the experience to make the price worth it.
The Soundcore app also offers plenty of features, like personalised sound, spatial audio, white noise and translation. Some people will love digging into all that. Others will want to pop the earbuds in and start listening without messing with settings. Thankfully, you don’t have to use it all.
The verdict
The Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2 aren’t here to replace every pair of wireless earbuds out there. They’re really for people who want something comfortable, secure, and easy to wear for long stretches, but still want to hear what’s going on around them. And I think that’s where they work best.

Comfort is excellent, the sound is better than I expected, calls are a real highlight, and battery life is solid. They’re especially appealing if you find in-ear earbuds uncomfortable or if you spend a lot of time taking calls on the go. Are they the best earbuds for everyone? No. But if you’ve avoided wireless earbuds because you can’t stand having something stuck in your ears, the AeroClip 2 might be just the alternative you’ve been looking for.
Bottom line: The AeroClip 2 shows that doing things differently can really pay off. They’re comfortable, sound good, and make taking calls much easier without cutting you off from what’s happening around you.
