Two Point Zooseum picks up where Two Point Museum left off with the same charming, colourful and lively style we’ve come to expect from Two Point Studios. We’ve already reviewed the full Two Point Museum (albeit on a different platform); you can find that here.

New Museum, Same Great Feel

A new type of museum

This time around, you’re tasked with managing a ‘Zooseum’, this being a hybrid between a traditional museum and a zoo, where you’ll have live exhibits which will need to be cared for. Each creature requires a type of biome and a style of enclosure. There are two new types of enclosures in this expansion: Habitat & Terrarium. You build Habitats like regular rooms, akin to the Fish Tanks in the base game. Terrariums are built in the Workshop and are more like standalone exhibits.

You will need to switch out the biome of your terrarium/habitat to match the needs of the creature; thankfully, this is done with a simple click of a button. There are also several types of decoration which fit multiple types of biomes. One of the charms of Two Point games is that things like this are always simple and easy to manage.

Usually, when you gather a creature from an expedition, it will have ‘Farflung Flu’. You will need to cure them in the new ‘Wildlife Welfare’ room. Treating creatures before placing them into habitats feels like a small throwback to Two Point Hospital, which is fun.

You can adopt creatures from the County’s Department of Wildlife, provided that you’ve already discovered said creature on an expedition. Sanctuary points are used to adopt. You will earn these by releasing wildlife back into the wild.

Different Creature Needs

A cute Capybara

Whilst most creatures have a preferred biome (some have no preference), they also have a few different requirements. Some creatures like to live near others of the same classification (reptila, insecta, mammalia etc). Some creatures need objects such as sprinklers to be placed nearby. Larger creatures will also take up more space inside a habitat. If you want a Zooseum full of giraffes, you’re going to need a huge Habitat.

Two Point Zooseum has a wide variety of new creatures to discover, so you’re bound to find your favourite animal amongst them all!

Base Features Still Brill

Brilliant base features such as people flow management, building design & customisation, etc, are all still present. The simplicity of one-way doors and staff only doors give you so much control. You still have complete freedom to create the museum of your dreams and tightly control the flow of everything. The game gives you a set of tools and you have the power to use them as you like. The best bit is that no decision you make is permanent. If you find you’ve placed a room or object in the wrong place you can move these at any point.

Is Two Point Zooseum Value For Money?

The Zooseum expansion is listed for £9.99 in the UK (see above for regional pricing). For this, you get: a brand-new museum, new ‘Wildlife Experts’, a new expedition map, 40+ Wildlife Exhibits, a fresh 5-star campaign, new gift shop items, interactive displays & other items and decorations. When you remember that you can use any of this new content in existing museums, I think this is quite good value for money.

Conclusion

Two Point Zooseum is a fabulous addition to the already wonderful base game. This expansion is brimming with the same charm and joyfulness that we enjoyed in all previous Two Point entries. The new features and ideas it introduces feel right at home in your museum. The great thing is that none of the new content is ringfenced, and you have the freedom to use it wherever you like. For the price of the expansion, you are getting a lot of new content, which will keep you entertained for many hours.
