Audio & Visual
This game has 700+ music tracks, nostalgic and modern form multiple series. The audio is pleasing and clean and provides an adequate taste for a fighting experience. The sound effects mostly consist of small character exclamations, numerous explosions and fictional sound effects, coupled with enjoyable music.
Compared to the previous Smash Bros instalments, this game’s visuals are phenomenal. The characters are incredibly detailed, from the looks to the facial expressions. The stages and scenery are beautiful and run nicely on the Switch. The fighting consists of many small flashes and a multitude of vibrant colours.
Gameplay & Replayability
This game features a growing library of modes and sensational battles. The slow-motion attacks and achievement of defeating even a single foe feel immensely rewarding, especially in a plethora of fighting options ensure the gamer never grows bored. With the vast selection of characters and hours of gameplay necessary to complete the game, replayability is practically guaranteed as many will return for more fun.
There are three ways to fight: time sees who can get the most KOs in the selected time; Stock gives a set number of lives to take, and Stamina changes the health from percentages to HP – a more recognisable way of fighting in other games.
Take on the story mode, World of Light, to free Nintendo characters that have been turned into spirts to possess the bodies of cloned fighters! And defeat the fiend Galeem, pulling strings. Triumph every unique character route in Classic Mode, a multitude of fights and one boss to defeat!
Create your own Stages in Stage Builder and make your Mii’s into fighters with selectable techniques and outfits.
Take on armies of Miis in Century Smash, 10 Man Smash, Cruel Smash or All-Star Mode, where you’ll see how many characters from the game you can defeat without losing. This game contains everything a fighting game needs, many modes, a good story and plenty of fighters to use through solid gameplay.
