Milo’s Quest is a wonderfully cute little adventure game that you are likely to be playing for two reasons. Firstly, if you are a trophy collector and want a cheap 10 to 15-minute platinum trophy. Secondly, if you are introducing your children to gaming for the first time and want a chilled adventure game for them to play.
Story-wise, Milo the dog uncovers a bone that allows ghosts and the Evil King Old Skull to take over the world. It is then Milo’s quest to collect upgrades and bones, of course, the currency in this game is bones while fighting these enemies. You will also have 3 boss fights to complete but I only call them a boss fight because they are big enemies, not necessarily because they are difficult.
There are two ways to approach this game depending on what you want from your playthrough. You can play adventure + puzzles which means that certain parts of the map will only open after you complete some basic puzzles. The other way is just adventure mode which removes the need to complete the puzzles and opens up all doors. This is the way you want to play the game to get the quick platinum.
The game design is bright and colourful which will be perfect for kids who are playing this. Plus, who isn’t going to love playing as a lovable pooch collecting bones and bashing into ghosts? The only mechanic that seems to have been overlooked is a map so you may find yourself wandering around trying to remember which way you came from.
There isn’t much else to say on this game really. It is what it is and that is a fun little adventure game that is pretty relaxing to play. Get it, put it on the Vita and pass it to the kids, and watch them complete their first game.
